Hello there, my name is Saul Kramer, and I am the creator of Spell Warriors. On October 4th through October 7th, my business partner, Patrick Judd, and I attended our very first Comic Con, held right here in our home city of New York! For years Patrick and I have dreamed of attending Comic Con, but it had never worked out, as tickets always sold out before we could get our hands on any. However all that changed this year, when Patrick and I were able to obtain some tickets, and we successfully made it to New York Comic Con, and attended all 4 days! The experience was eye opening, with so many things to see and do, it was a whirlwind of excitement!
As much as Patrick and I are fans of comic books and all things related to geekdom, we did attend the con with a purpose; this was our first attempt at showcasing our brand Spell Warriors, and seeing how people would react to it. I am proud to say that the reactions we got were beyond what we were hoping for. Of course at this stage in the process, Patrick and I didn’t have a booth or anything like that. Instead, we printed out shirts with images of our heroes on them, we made hats with our logo on them, and we printed out postcards, which showcased a group image of our entire cast of main characters.
The reaction we got was phenomenal! As we walked down the halls of the convention center, I could see the eyes of people passing by us look down at our shirts , I could see they were curious to learn about what exactly Spell Warriors was. Some people went beyond just looking at my shirt, and actually stopped me in my place and flat out asked me, “What’s Spell Warriors?” As I briefly explained the concept, people’s eyes lit up as I went on, they were curious to learn more about it. People were so ecstatic when I gave them hats, telling them “now you too, are a Spell Warrior”. People also got extremely happy when I gave them the group shot postcard, and even a few special individuals received a Spell Warriors shirt of their own!
Needless to say, our experience at New York Comic Con 2018 was a great one, and Patrick and I learned much more about the comic industry, and that there is indeed an audience for Spell Warriors, and we intend to give the people what they want.
