Coming in at the size of a small elephant and poisonous to the touch, Skar Snails are to be feared whenever adventurers come across one. The good news about these slimy, solitary creatures is that their bodies move quite slowly and thus so long as you don’t anger it, parties should be able to flee from it should the need arise. However, if it’s angry or hungry (which is often is) you’ll be in for an exhausting fight.
As stated, the bodies of these creatures move very slowly. However, they do have a backup weapon in the form of 30 foot long hooked tentacles. These appendages can react in the blink of an eye and snatch someone by the ankle before they’ve even had a chance to realize they’ve been targeted.
Skar Snails tend to hide in the darkness of forests and attack at night when they are least likely to be noticed. They will wait in the quiet of the woods for hours until something large enough runs past them at which point they use their tentacles to entrap them and eat them whole before they have even a moment to fight back. When threatened, they tend to retreat into their shells which are as hard as marble and just as difficult to crack.
