Seline was abandoned by her mother which is sadly common thing in Minkx culture. Weakness is looked down upon so parents will often abandon their children and watch them from afar to see how they adapt and survive in order to determine if they are worth the investment of being sent to an assassination school. Those who are strong survive, those who are weak are shunned and treated as second class citizens. Those Minkx children who remain cast aside and unable to join an assassination school often band together, however, and Seline was able to find a home with them for many years.
Surviving on the city streets by thieving, Seline caught the attention of a secret assassination society called the “Slay & Skulls Camaraderie”. Made up entirely of other forgotten Minkx children, Seline joined with them and quickly rose up their ranks earning many of their unique badges.
Seline’s final test to receive her hundredth badge was to assassinate a target with no questions asked. Seline was able to accomplish this task only to learn afterward that the target she had killed was her own mother that had abandoned her as a young child. Deeply affected by this, Seline now carries the burden of guilt in her heart and soul. For this reason, she has vowed to never take another innocent life.
Role: Assassin/ Ninja
Height: 5’10
Weight: 130 lbs
Race: Minkx
Minkx come in a variety of purple and pink shades. Descended from cats, they are quick and nimble on their feet. Residing high up in the Grad-Rok Mountains, their lungs have evolved to tolerate high altitudes which give them the ability to run faster and longer than others.
Born with long whiskers on their ears, these serve the purpose of heightening their hunting senses and give them the ability to detect chemical changes in the wind. As mentioned, the Minkx are formidable hunters due to their ancestry and are skilled at jumping, pouncing, dark vision, and hearing. As they grow older, they also develop long, claw-like nails which can not only be used as weapons but also aid in climbing various surfaces.
Seline is apathetic at best and sees assassination as a fun game more than a serious task these days. She keeps count of the number of people she kills and makes light of the deaths through humor. When not plying her trade, she enjoys gambling and living life in a wild and carefree manner. An adrenaline junkie, Seline is often careless with her own life due to the teachings she learned as a child that life is meant to be lived and death is nothing to be feared.
This energetic outer shell, however, is merely a facade which hides the guilt she carries within her. While others would describe her as happy and cheerful, in reality, she feels empty and carries many dark secrets that she refuses to share with anyone.
If there are two things that the Minkx are known for, they would be their ingenuity when it comes to aircraft and their assassination skills. Thanks to their natural gifts, Minkx are skilled at the art of death. Learning these skills from a young age, assassination is taken very seriously within Minkx culture to the point that there are several ceremonies dedicated to the art.
There is a ladder of assassination skills within Minkx society and as children, Minkx youth will be put through various “cycles” that are all dedicated to a different form of assassination. With each new “cycle” comes a new trial that must be passed before the Minkx can obtain a badge which shows that they have mastered that particular assassination method. The more badges a Minkx is able to obtain, the higher their social standing within their society. There are 100 different badges that a Minkx can receive and those who obtain them all get the title of “Master Assassin”.
It is unwise to assume that just because you’re in the presence of a Minkx that they are an assassin though. Some choose a more peaceful path in life and some come from families who can’t afford to send their offspring to one of the many, expensive assassination schools.
As previously mentioned, the Minks are just as skilled when it comes to flight and aircraft as they are with assassination. Capable of building large airships (which are often used for pirating), they also build Ornithopters for single use. They were forced to develop these skills due to the fact that their mountainous home is only accessible by flight.
The Minkx have developed their own style of fighting which compliments their natural gifts. Called Capashendo, this fighting style almost looks like a dance with fast, graceful movements, flips, kicks, and jumps.
As the assassin of the group, Seline is the most heavily armed member carrying knives, throwing daggers, a short sword, a whip, switchblades which eject from her wrist gauntlets, and a couple of handguns. If all else fails, she isn’t afraid to get physical with her natural claws.
