Desert Pikins have grown certain physical features which help them deal with the harsh sun and heat in which they live. To start, this breed of Pikin has extra thick soles on their feet which allows them to walk easily across burning hot sand without sustaining any kind of burn. In addition to this, they can also go for long stretches of time without water due to extra fatty deposits of skin on their backs known as humps.
Preferring to use poisonous maces made from the tails of giant desert scorpions and other blunt instruments as their weapons of choice, Desert Pikins like up close and personal battles with lots of screaming and pain.
Living in the desert, this breed of Pikins tends to be nomadic and travel from place to place in search of natural resources they can consume. If you do happen to be traveling across the desert and see a tribe of Desert Pikins walking though, you should change direction immediately as they will attack without a moment of hesitation and steal everything you have.
Like Chaos Pikins, Desert Pikins are loyal to their leader. Unlike their chaotic cousins, however, their power struggles are much more common as these Pikins tend to get angry and frustrated easily. If the tribe goes more than a couple of days without food or water, a new leader will overthrow the current leader and lead the tribe in a new direction until resources are found.
Desert Pikins worship the sun god Giohaq from the Pikin gods pantheon. They rise every morning at dawn and say prayers to the sun god to show mercy on them for that particular day. If clouds cover the sky and the sun can’t be seen, it is seen as an ominous sign of danger for the next 24 hours.
In terms of their relationships with other breeds of Pikins and other species, Desert Pikins are friendly with other Pikins so long as they have something to trade. They have no use for any Pikins who can’t fend for themselves. They are entirely mistrustful of humanoids and will attack on sight.
